Privacy policy

Last updated 18 October 2026

This policy explains what personal data Bless The Couple collects from couples and from their guests, why we collect it and what you can do about it. We have tried to keep it plain. Questions: [email protected].

1. Who is responsible for your data

Bless The Couple is responsible for the personal data described here. Contact us at [email protected] for any privacy question or request.

Bless The Couple is registered with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce (KvK) under number 84189495.

2. What we collect

From couples who order a wedding website:

  • your name and email address, and payment confirmation details from our payment provider (we do not see or store full card numbers);
  • the details you enter for your wedding website: names, family names, ceremonies, dates, times and venues, dress code, your note and your story;
  • portrait photos, if you choose to upload them;
  • your chosen website name and your settings, such as add-to-calendar and RSVP.

From guests who reply to an RSVP:

  • their name, whether they will attend, the number of guests and which ceremonies;
  • an optional dietary preference and an optional short message.

A dietary preference can hint at someone’s religion or health. Guests give it only if they choose to. We use it only to pass it on to the couple.

Basic technical data, such as IP address, browser type and the pages requested, is processed by our hosting systems to deliver the service and keep it secure.

We do not use advertising cookies or sell personal data.

3. Couples, families and guests

Three groups of people appear in the data we handle, and we treat each differently.

  • Couples: your name and email address (used for your receipt, your live link and support, and never sold or shared for advertising), plus the wedding details you enter.
  • Family members: when you enter parents’ or relatives’ names, you give us personal data about people who have not signed up themselves. These names appear on your wedding website. Please make sure they are happy to be named. If a family member would like their name removed, ask the couple or email [email protected] and we will update it.
  • Guests: a guest’s name, reply, number of guests, chosen ceremonies, optional dietary preference and optional message. We do not collect guests’ email addresses or phone numbers through the RSVP, and we ask guests not to include them in their message.

We use couples’ and guests’ data only to run the wedding website and RSVP, to provide support, and as described in this policy. We do not send marketing emails to couples or guests without asking first.

4. Why we use it

  • To provide the service you ordered: create, publish and show your wedding website, take payment, send your receipt and link, and handle revisions. (Performing our contract with you.)
  • To collect RSVP replies and make them available to the couple, at the couple’s request. (Our legitimate interest in running the feature the couple switched on, and the guest’s choice to reply.)
  • To answer your questions, handle refunds and keep a record of orders. (Contract, and our legal obligations.)
  • To keep the service secure and fix problems. (Our legitimate interest.)

5. Who sees it

Anyone with the link can see your wedding website, including the names, dates, venues, portraits and story you published. Please only include what you are comfortable sharing with every guest, and with anyone they forward the link to.

RSVP replies are visible to the couple on a private guest-list page, which only opens with a secret link given to the couple. Anyone who has that link can see the replies. We also email each reply (the guest’s name, answer, number of guests, ceremonies, dietary preference and message) to the email address the couple used at checkout. The couple can switch these emails off with the link in any of them. We see replies only as needed to run and support the service.

We share data with service providers who help us run the service, under their own privacy commitments: our hosting provider, and our payment provider, Stripe, which receives your payment details and sends your receipt. We send email through an email provider, which receives the address, subject and content of each message we send, including the reply emails above.

We may disclose data where the law requires it. We do not sell personal data.

6. Third parties inside your wedding website

Your wedding website loads its fonts from Google Fonts, so a guest’s browser contacts Google when the website opens. The Add to calendar buttons contact Google Calendar only when a guest taps them, or download a calendar file to their device.

On the site you are using now, your unfinished details are saved in your own browser (local storage) so you can come back to them. This stays on your device until you finish ordering or clear it.

7. How long we keep it

We keep a wedding website and its RSVP replies while the website is live, which is until 90 days after the couple’s last ceremony unless the couple asks us to extend it. After it is taken down, we delete the content and replies within 90 days, unless you ask us to delete sooner or the law requires us to keep something.

We keep order and payment records for as long as accounting and tax law require.

8. Keeping it safe

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal data, including limiting who can access it. No online service can be completely secure, so please do not put sensitive information, such as bank details or ID numbers, in your wedding website or in RSVP messages.

9. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you can ask us to give you a copy of your personal data, correct it, delete it, limit or object to how we use it, or move it to another service. You can also withdraw consent where we rely on it.

Guests: if you replied to an RSVP and want your reply changed or deleted, ask the couple or email us at [email protected].

To use any of these rights, email [email protected]. We may need to check it is you. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.

10. Children

The service is for adults arranging a wedding. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you list a child’s name on a wedding website, you are responsible for having the right to do so.

11. Transfers outside your country

Our providers may process data in other countries. Where that happens we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as standard contractual clauses, where the law requires them.

12. Changes

We may update this policy as the service changes. The date at the top shows the latest version. If a change is significant, we will tell you in a clear way, such as by email.
